Have a Goal in Mind for Your Session 

Consider what your organization is trying to accomplish, and how marketing communications supports that goal. Ask yourself: What do I want to get out of this consultation? What problem am I trying to solve? 

What would success look like? If there’s something specific you’d like answered or covered, ask! Your consultant wants to make the time valuable to you. Your consultant may be the marketing expert, but you are the expert on your organization. By entering the process with a clear idea of what you want to accomplish, you empower both yourself and the expert to develop successful strategies.

Fill Out Your Questionnaire as Fully as Possible

Details, details, details! Doing your homework allows you to make the most of the time in the room. Be sure to include a mix of qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data is descriptions of marketing history, what has worked and what doesn’t, and available resources. Quantitative information might include social media metrics, key performance indicators, or registration sales data. It can also be helpful to provide examples of past successes, or of other organizations you’d like to emulate. The more detailed information you provide, the more personalized your session will be to your organization’s unique situation. 

Leave with an Action Plan for Next Steps
